quick read

I found the female character very likable, and relatable (mostly due to our added free time due to unemployment). I found it to be very fast paced and well written, nothing was overly drawn out, yet my thirst for romance was left quenched. The book was a very quick read as I am new to the world of romance novels. I would highly reccomend for and of the modern romance readers.

Enchanting read

I like a wounded hero and here is one that is well-adjusted, comfortable in his own skin, not angry, not morose, not bitter and living an independent life and working as an attorney. Our heroine has had enough of the one-dimensional world of the supermodel and has jumped ship in order to save her sanity - a nice person who is anxious to have a meaningful, ordinary life. Lynne meets Brendan when he trips over her moving boxes in their apartment corridor and in a fully believeable way, they find they are attracted and, indeed, in love with each other. I enjoyed reading some background about guide dogs. I have a friend who is on his third dog and another who is a "puppy walker" as they are called here in the UK. I have much admiration for these wonderful animals and am always amazed at their capabilities. A great read - too brief, sadly and much better than one would exepct in the Desire imprint.

Very well done!

As the wife of a disabled man, I am too often disappointed by the way authors depict disabled heroes. Well, I am happy to say that Anne Marie Winston did a great job portraying the hero as a smart, witty, successful guy who can't see. He's not whiney, he's not bitter, he's not any of the usual, awful "dis-guy" romance-novel stereotypes. In other words: he's normal. The heroine, too, is well-done -- she doesn't coddle or pity him, and assumes -- accurately -- that there isn't much he can't do. Very likeable characters! Highly recommended.

An Enjoyable Quick Read

I enjoyed reading this book, because it was romantic with just a touch of sexiness. It was a unique love story that portrayed a strong romantic hero with a handicap and a beautiful heroine with some hang-ups. Both characters were smart and sexy. This book cannot be classified as "Hot Sexy", but it really is a sweet romance with a couple heated sex scenes. One of the few Harlequin books that both the hero and heroine were likeable throughout the storyline. I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars because it read quickly, but that's normal for most Harlequin Romances.

Holiday Confessions

Great Book! I really enjoyed reading it because it showed how a person with a handicap could enter into a good relationship with a person that was trying to find herself after her abrupt career change. The characters are delightful and the story line is great. It is a true love story.
