Barbara Taylor Bradford's enthralling New York Times bestseller A Woman of Substance introduced a remarkable heroine and her rise to fame, power, and wealth. Now the triumphant story-and unpredictable heritage-of Emma Harte continues… A LEGACY TO SHARE As the strong-willed force behind a thriving international business empire, Emma Harte built a life rooted in a single-minded purpose, one of unyielding determination and terrible sacrifice to achieve the stunning pinnacle of success. But the most difficult decision of her hard-won life is yet to come… AN INHERITANCE TO PROTECT There's only one way for Emma to ensure the promise of Harte Enterprises-by relinquishing control of the mighty empire to her beloved granddaughter, Paula McGill Fairley, a woman with her own dreams, and her own resolve to make them come true. But for Paula, with an extraordinary opportunity comes the professional and personal challenges of a lifetime… A DREAM TO HOLD Supported and encouraged by a lifelong friend, Paula strives to be all that her grandmother was. But victory comes with a price, and Paula is put to the ultimate test as devastating greed and jealousy, scandalous lies, and flesh and blood betrayals threaten the very foundation of her future and a grand and true love that has flourished in silence and secret…
For fifty years Emma Harte has built an empire in retail sales until it encompasses the globe, but who will wield the power in her absence? She bequeaths her vast holdings and power to her granddaughter Paula McGill Fairley, the grandchild of her lover Paula McGill. Paula must face many enemies, not the least of whom are her own family. A bad marriage ends in disaster and she cannot free herself to find the one true love of her life. The one man who knows her like no other. The book starts slow, recounting some of the previous story, but soon picks up to stand on its own as Paula holds fast to her grandmother's dream. Am rereading the entire Emma Harte series and this is not a dissapointment. As is a Woman of Substance the characters leap of the page and the story contunues to mesmorize. A page turner.

I bought this book plus three other by the same author for a friends birthday. She loved the book and read it in a couple of days.
Women with goals

I most certainly enjoyed the book Hold the Dream. I read the book about a year ago and my only regret was that I was not able to get all the books in this set for I only read the one part. I like women who know what they want and set their goals to achieve it. Women are no longer just homemakers but can be expert bussinesswomen. Keep up the good work.Unfortunately, our currency is 2 to 1 US therefore some of the prices are steep.
Fantastic Book of Barbara Taylor Bradford Ever Read

Paula McGill Fairley is another replica of Emma Harte. She is badly suited against Jim Fairley who is a weak person. The way she dealt with Jonathan is what Emma Harte would have done. So to speak, pride comes before a fall.
