An Incredible Journey

I couldn't put this book down from the time I read the forward by Nicholas Evans to the epilogue. Glenys Carl's courage and open heart fascinated me throughout the story of her care of her brain injured son, Scott. Not only a mother's love and passion but a son's joy for life in the face of so many obstacles made this story very special to me. Glenys Carl's ability to tell her story simply but compellingly with love and compassion is a rare gift. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Hold My Hand

This true story of love and compassion restored my faith in the good that lives within each of us. It also solidified my belief in miracles. Glenys Carl shows us that love can move mountains. If you want to read a story that will move you through tears to joy and back again, then Hold My Hand is that story. Thank you Glenys for sharing your spirit with all of us.

A story I'll never forget....

Glenys Carl's memoir touched me in such a profound way. This is not a sad, depressing book...it's one that will continue to inspire you by the courage, strength and compassion wrapped up in that one small woman. Most mothers would do anything for their child but, I believe, few would do it in the way that Glenys did. You'll feel that you know Glenys, her son and all of the people that rallied to help. It's a beautiful story...don't miss it.

More Than a Mother's Story

This book was so wonderful on so many levels. A great story in and of itself, but also transcendent in the kind of spiritual lessons her journey embodies. It was one of those books where I became so totally immersed in her soulful tale that I did not want it to end. Beautifully told, yes, it is a story of incredible devotion, courage and determination to find treatment for her son, a story with the full complement of human drama. But it is also a story of miracles and grace, the radiant spirit of the author and the essential goodness of people.

An Unexpected Absorbing Story...

This book has all the makings of a spiritual journey...well told with a light heart by a single mother who had to move mountains to serve her son, finding her way past systems of health care and conventional physical therapists to enlist the help of those who connected with her and their own desire to be of assistance to one interested in helping herself. The son is described as a person with a healing force, a very alive young man with determination and a very winning way about him. This book is a great read - one I found hard to put down because I enjoyed being with their family and friends so much. Ana Gonzales Biele, U.S.
