This really is a great cookbook for the average American English speaking home. But sadly not for an old monastic hermit such as I. I use now: No honey. No maple syrup. No coffee. No flour. No rice. No dairy. No meats. My basic rule is Eat raw. Eat half. If you would not eat it raw, don't eat it. So that kills just about all of the excellent and scrupmtious recipes in this book. And they really do read scrumptiously. Very healthy stuff, I am sure. Except for the meats, the dairy products, the flour, the sugars, those carbs. Best recipe for me that I can come uip with with oat bran, a necessary dietary supplemt? Throw half a handful in with my boiling lentils. Or steel cut oats. Good stuff, this oat bran. Use all you can. Fill up on it. And never go processed foods again.
