A Comprehensive History of the US Armed Forces

First of all, this book is mammoth in size (1007 pages, 12.4" x 9.4" x 2.9"). It covers each branch of the service, except for the Coast Guard (which gets left out of all military books - sorry). The main 4 branches of service are covered extensively from the time of their conception to the moment of this book being published. Very informative book. Every military buff should have this book!!
