good for the beginner

This book is good for med students on their first clinical rotation. It will give an overview of how to frame your history and physical, questions to ask, tests to order, and long differentials. With a few months of experience, this book is not really necessary. I rarely use it now at the end of MS3.

Very helpful for taking and writing H & Ps.

This book breaks each chief complaint down into an H & P. It then tells you exactly the types of questions and physical exam findings you should look for given that chief complaint. Perfect for those (including myself!) who are still trying to figure out the relevant information for a given symptom/cc.
