New Castle has the third largest historic district in Pennsylvania. The 91-block district contains roughly 450 acres of land holding many ornate homes and mansions, including fine examples of Italianate, Queen Anne Victorian, American Fore-square, Bungalow/Craftsman, Romanesque Revival, and Neo-Classical Homes. This full-color neighborhood booklet includes homes dating as far back as 1859 that were built by merchants, bankers and industrialists.
