Poem sets the scene

"Highwaymen: Robbers & Rogues" edited by Jennifer Roberson, © 1997 This was a very good anthology. The foreword comments on it's beginning. It was started as a collaboration of some sort of online bulletin board subject and ended up being this book. A really good development!! Some of the stories are simply presented, but a short story is bound to be simple. Most of them are really interesting, even if a lot of them refer to the poem "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes. The plots and development of each of these stories is something to read. I found every one interesting for one reason or another. Some had ghosts or devils, or science fiction or something else that made them extraordinary. This was a very good anthology. The foreword comments on it's beginning. HIGHWAYMEN AND HORSES

Review by Nina Coombs Pykare, author of the Kate Ketterling series, Death Comes for Desdemona, Death Rides a Pink Horse. The Regency is my period and many of the stories in this collection take place then. Also, I love horses. So this is super book for me. I tried to space the reading out, keep a little for later, but I got carried away and read it all in a hurry. I highly recommend it.
