Religious theme and for children with fine motor skills.

I was unaware of a not so subtle Christian religious theme when purchasing this for my four year old grandson. It won't offend his parents or other grandparents, but I would not purchase this for say any clinical or educational use (counseling or private or public preschool) because of the intrusion of religion. It helps children with owning reponsibility for cleaning-up after themselves. "Draw an X through the things that _____ must put away" is an excellent strategy, especially when the washable crayons allows the adult-led interactive activity to be used with regularity or with multiple children. Fine motor skills are needed on some of the durable pages to draw specific items, a skill my little Peanut will master with or near completion of first grade. It might be fun for a parent to take digital pictures of the more earnest (or fill-in the word here: hilarious, inspired, etc.) of the tot's efforts, to compare with later ones. It is a well-constructed, durable product that should entertain both the adult and child, but would recommend purchasing it for children who are either in first or early 2nd grade. It may be used earlier for coloring and identifying objects to be cleaned-up, but not the drawing activities (unless you have a gifted artist, or one who does not get frustrated with being normal!)
