Elaborate pop up in a small package.

This is a tiny book (just under 5"x6") but packs 8 colorful pop-up scenes into the center of each page. They are very well done and the smaller scale adds to the compactness and sturdiness of the displays. Each scene really juts out toward the reader, making it a very interesting and fun book for kids to stay focused during each read. Rhyming story text accompanies each scene, and it's a very well designed miniature pop up. No pull tabs or rotating dials, which usually only make the pop-up books' shelf life that much shorter anyway. A recommended gift or family purchase for this holiday season.

Beautiful Pop-Up

This is a wonderful children's book and I would highly recommend it for the Christmas season. The illustrations are wonderful and the construction of the pop-up material is surprisingly sturdy (though certainly no match for any determined toddler, I'm sure!). I was also impressed with the story itself. I can see myself pulling this out right after Hallowe'en and making this a routine bedtime story for our kids. Lastly, the book is the perfect size and length for the recommended age group.

Nice Little Book

This is a nice little Christmas book. It is intended for small children. It is the perfect book to read to a very small child, plus it is a pop-up book, that that makes the pictures that much more interesting to the young child. The book is in rhyming format, and it is about Santa and what he has to do. The rhyming words are nice, the story is nice, and the pop-up pictures are the best. The pop-ups are the main ingredient of the book, and the best ingredient. I would highly recommend this cute little pop-up book if you have a very young child. It works as a great bedtime story book. Or you can read it anytime you want to the young child. Very good book. I highly recommend it.

Who doesn't love a pop-up book?

This is a cute little book; just the right size for little hands. The text is simple, but engaging. As one reviewer hinted, your child may want to hear this read to him/her over and over, so I'm glad it is an adult-friendly story, too. While I would say pop-up books are usually for children over three - based on the fact that you want them to understand you when you say, "No! Don't pull on it!" - these pop-ups are nice and sturdy and therefore probably able to handle a little more curiosity and enthusiasm than the average. That alone gets it my recommendation!

Here Comes Santa

David Pelham, currently one of the best pop-up book engineers around, provides a small but fun book about Santa. With simple, short verse, this book will be quite magical for toddlers and older kids. The pop-ups are complex enough to be interesting to adults. However, they are simple enough that for once I didn't experience a single pop-up malfunction my first time through the book. I collect pop-up books and that is a rare feat, although almost all are easily corrected. This one might survive more misuse, such as continous rereads, than the usual pop-up books. The illustrations are bright and colorful. The text is cheery without turning sentimental. It's short, but that can be a blessing when a book is a favorite with your favorite child. Kids can easily graduate from this into Robert Sabuda's pop-up masterpiece "The Night Before Christmas." As with any pop-up, this is a lapsit book for anyone under age five. All pop-ups are by their very nature fragile, but this one is enjoyable and worth the money and time you invest in it. Highly recommended for young children and their grown-ups.
