If Rating included more than the prescribed 'five' stars, I would have certainly chosen a higher grade. The absence of Herbert von Karajan has left us a vacuum. There is an emptiness that many are trying to fill. Alas, Karajan's capacity cannot be so infectious that all can catch it nor can it be spread to the most unlikely intruders. His interpretations (Tosca-Pucchini, Mozart, Brahms, Beethhoven and many many others) remain impressed permeating deeply into his listeners feelings that when one hears music one would - without watching- no doubt, immediately know "this must be Karajan conducting". I treasure his 'recordings' and I am sure if the great composers were living his era, they would have rightly chosen Karajan to conduct their music.
