A story of love and espionage set in Great Britain

A totally enjoyable book from start to finish.Not horribly filled with all the terrors of world war ll, but enough to make you understand the seriousness of it all. It starts out in Dublin Ireland, where a young girl in her early twenties, Sarah, and her sister Maura live, along with a father who's out more than he's in, always at the local pub, getting drunk on his pints, and barely cares he has two daughters,at home,let alone provide for them, and when he is home he is physically abusive to them, just as he was to their mother, who died 5 yrs ago from TB. Sarah has just broken up with her boyfriend Paul, who she really seriously cares for, but is very disappointed in him when he tells her he's going to enlisted in the RAF and join the war in London. As she is walking home, she sees German airplane fighters going over their neighborhood, though they shouldn't be, as Ireland is a country of Neutrality with the Germans.Well it's not long into the night her and her sister hear the planes coming back, and the air raid siren's are going off, Sarah and her sister Maura run downstairs and before they could even turn around a bomb explodes sending them in into oblivion. Its hours till Sarah is rescued from the completely destroyed home, and taken to the hospital for her many injuries. She learns from Paul, that her younger sister Maura hasen't made it, and neither has her father. Sarah herself is lucky to be alive. As Sarah has lost everyone and everything, and is walking around with a broken heart over the loss of her sister, and their home, though she can't find it in her heart to even shed a tear for her father. Her mothers brother, her uncle Ted and aunt Alice, reaches out to her from England, and has taken her in as one of his own. after all she is the only family Uncle Ted has from his sister, Sarah's mother.They accept her with open arms, and she realizes for the first time in her life, what it's like to have a Real family, and a Real father figure, something her and Maura never experienced. As happy as she is, she so wishes with all her heart Maura had lived, and was here to experience this too. Sarah's uncle Ted gets her a job where he's working , mainly one of the many war plants that have sprung up like weeds, with need of workers to help support the war effort with all aspects of work. She starts out in the tracing department, tracing blue prints of the British Spitfire airplanes, that change constantly, as the war progresses and they have a need to be upgraded to help fight and win the war. While she is at work she is approached by what she believes to be a British Captain who wants her to help the British secret service catch a spy who they know is after the drawings. Sarah wants nothing more than to prove her loyalty to her Family and show the love and Loyalty to her New Found Country..she accepts the mission to help. Sarah must befriend an acquaintance, a man her age that works in the Wages Dept, she is told he's a Nazi sympathizer and is looking to have the upgrades to the British planes, to hand over to the German handler he's in contact with. This begins the story of Sarah's mission. You won't believe the twists and turns this great story takes !! I Loved this story soooo much..andjust found out book 2, is coming out in Nov 22' I Can't wait to continue with Sarah's mission. It is a Wonderfully written, detailed, story. I know book 2, will be just as great...as the ending prepares you for her next mission !!! All of 5 stars .
