Realistic love story with a happy ending what more could you want...

I just found Kay Stockham and have started reading most of her books which I really enjoy, but so far this is my favorite. The characters are believable for one they certainly aren't perfect and have hang ups like most people yet they are still able to work through their problems by communication (even though this took awhile.) I liked how in this book it wasn't the male that had the problems with commitment which is generally who has the issues in romance novels, but the heroine and it great to see her evolve. I love this author. You can tell she cares deeply for her characters and wants them to truly know that they love each other. I really love how much thought Kay puts into making this story especially and I am really looking forward to more from her. I just hope that in Alex's story we hear more from these two.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Kay Stockham's "Tulanes of Tennessee" series. Each book is emotional, romantic, and heartwarming. HER BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER is the latest in the series and a definite keeper. I highly recommend this series and this author.

Emotionally satisfying romance

Shelby Brookes and Luke Tulane have known each other since they were children. Luke's sister, Alex, is Shelby's long-time best friend. While there may have been an attraction between Shelby and Luke when they were teens and young adults, they never gave in to it until after Luke's brother's wedding. Maybe it was the romantic atmosphere of the wedding and the reception after, but the passion that flared between them was undeniable and irresistible. Since their night together, Shelby has avoided Luke and ignored his calls, not terribly difficult when he lives and works in California. When Luke returns to Tennessee for his twin brother's wedding, Shelby can't avoid him. It soon becomes obvious that Shelby is pregnant from their earlier night together and Luke insists that they get married. A child of divorce, Shelby doesn't have much faith in lasting, successful marriages, but she wasn't prepared for Luke's dogged determination and perseverance and they marry. When Luke returns to California and their marriage is long distance, Luke's positive thinking and the loving support of their families might not be enough to keep them together. Kay Stockham writes some of the most touching, heartfelt romance I've ever read. Shelby, Luke and their families and friends are incredibly realistic and could easily be your own relatives or neighbors. I strongly recommend this book to contemporary romance lovers who enjoy sweetly sensual, emotionally gripping stories.

An endearing romance

Kay Stockham delivers another emotional and heart warming story in Her Best Friend's Brother. Shelby Brookes always had feelings for her best friend Alex's brother Luke. She had for years tampered them down but one night three months ago she gave into her desires. Now she is tossing her cookies right in front of the man she has been avoiding ever since. Luke Tulane has had a successful career in computer game development in California. He rarely makes it back home to Tenn to visit his family. Luke is back just three months after his last visit for another family wedding. Luke can't figure out why Shelby is avoiding him until he add two plus two and gets pregnant. Luke wants to give his baby and Shelby a home but Shelby is resistant. Shelby hadn't had the most stable home life growing up, especially with her drama queen of a Mom. With Shelby fighting Luke at every turn he really has his work cut out for him. Luke and Shelby's romance is not an easy one. Each is stubborn and have family issues clouding their vision. But this story is so exceptional that you will find yourself going back over it time and time again. Kay Stockham's books are what romance and life are all about, they touch your soul and don't let go.
