A story that will grip your heart and cause you to ponder deeply the atrocities of the past, and how one individual allowed God to use all things for good...even something as horrible as what this man went through to become better and not simply bitter and to bless so many others with his life.

My cup continues to overflow from reading this book

A mighty woman of God loaned me this incredibly powerful book and I'm staring at it now, thinking, "My GOD!!!!"ANYONE who is ANYONE needs to read this book, saved, not saved, or whatever! How incredibly beautiful is the glory of the Lord upon Brother Robert Sadler...to have gone through incredulous suffering from childhood...to have been enslaved, sold to a White man by his own father...to have witnessed the incredible pain that many of us within the Black American community only imagine...and yet, he still learned to LOVE those who HATED him!!!! This is PERFECT timing for those who really want to understand the messages of peace and love and equality because it's 2004 and almost February...being an African American myself, I've found this novel to be so uplifting and incredibly pure....that I wish I knew how to contact both authors...I've just been blessed!!GET IT!!!! It Changed My Life.

I read this book when it first came out. I was a new Christian and what this man went through made my problems seem so small. I loaned/gave this book to others and they all feel the same. Including my husband. When the Lady of the house tells her little girl that Robert doesn't have a soul. She said, "he's like an animal, he doesn't have a soul. I was so angry at her stupidity. However, I continued reading and went from anger to incredulous to envy of Roberts wonderful connection to God. It's an incredible book.

A truly phenomenal life.

This is the best book I have ever read and it has changed the course of my life into the direction of the supernatural. I have read it several times, captivated by the horrors and hardships in this mans life. Balanced by the phenomenal unbelievable experiences he encountered by trusting and obeying the Lord.
