Majzels constructs a kaleidescopic non-linear narrative that alternates from English to Quebecois in this beautiful story of a man unravelling in an asylum. Highly recommended.
individual's fantastic tale of self explanation/exploration.

This book was one of the best stories I have read this year. It has elements of The Tin Drum, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Sound and the Fury woven clevery throughout it. I have to say if you like reading books that take the art of introspection to an higher level this is the book to read. I rarley recommend current fiction to anyone, but this book has remained in my mind for a long time since reading it. The story mainly takes place in the confines of a mental hospital, but at seemingly random points the main character takes the reader throughout his thoughts in such a way that you slowly piece together why he is there. The process is both entertaining and moving. To read a book this well written was an unexpected surprise.
