Very funny

I read this book in an hour. It's very funny reading different stereotypes that exist. It is all in good fun and nobody should take offense. I never heard of some of the stereotypes in the book but when I asked others if they have they described what's in this book. The book is laid out and organized in an easy & fun way to read.

A big belly laugh

What a funny read!!! Where else can you be reminded of Buckwheat and Schaefer beer in the same book. This book is to comedy what Nate Bowman was to upstate basketball!!! Ned Boy heard rumors of a sequel with more southern truths.

Superbly Superb

Hechinger's guide is sneaky good. At first one might think it simply a string of ethnic jokes -- very, very good ethnic jokes. But beating beneath the offensive humor -- very, very funny offensive humor -- is a heart filled with love for the infinite variety of the human animal. Sure, the book is funny, but it is much more than that: It is very funny. Given to me as a gag gift, I now have it in a place of literary honor on my 'H' shelf between Thomas Hardy and Herodotus. Hechinger's is superbly superb.

"No bias, No Bull"

Finally, a definitive, deeply researched tome laying bare the rationale for ethnic stereotypes. The book includes examples of famous people who belong to varous ethnicities-- for instance, did you know Dwight Eisenhower was of German descent or that Jennifer Aniston is of Greek descent? Can you tell the difference between an Irish Catholic and an Irish Protestant?? The book is at times humorous, informative and shocking in its insights into the basic natures of the peoples who make up the cultural melting pot of our country. Every library should have a copy of this authoritative work, authored by two allegedly world-renown cultural anthropologists. This book will stand as a modern version of de Tocqueville's Democracy in America
