The human heart was created and with it, the human condition that it would be bruised and bloodied and scarred. There are not enough words, enough paint, or enough music in the world to capture all of the emotions that come with heartache. Like the sunset, it looks different to whomever views it. There can be beauty in that pain. There can be a connection for which people can reach across the ages and read a sentence, see a painting or hear a song and think that they are not alone. We become trailblazers for one another in this journey of love and heartache. This menagerie of poems includes a range from unrequited love and forsaken love. From walking away to finally waking up. Perhaps, in The Garden of Eden, God took the rib from Adam to create Eve because He needed us to be intertwined and connected.
