The gutsy gang in Headhunters makes The First Wives Club look like Little Women. Hilarious! (Iris Rainier Dart, bestselling author of Beaches) This description may be from another edition of this product.
I wrote a review when this book first arrived BUT somehow it didn't post back in 2001. Everything Mr. Bass does is QUALITY! I should know, I have written two books about him and his work with RANKIN/BASS. To my delight, it was reported in VARIETY just a few short days ago that this book's rights were purchased for a feature film project by NICOLE KIDMAN's company and the film is to star the GREAT actress! I could only hope for a part in the film. What a GREAT story! These days I have been recording a solo CD with the GIN BLOSSOMS (Robin Wilson Producing) BUT I still continue my work with RANKIN/BASS and their work has never been more popular. JULES has also written a few Children's books based on HERB, THE VEGETARIAN DRAGON and has shown great range with all the various things he has done in his career...including Directing MAD MONSTER PARTY. I would suggest that you disregard several of the negative reviewers here and check out this book before the film comes out.
Absolutely Charming

Jules writes with such a charismatic style that captivates your mind and makes you wish you were there with the women embarking on a journey. It takes you through so many of the emotions of us women have about wanting to get out and take chances. And lets not forget about the men in the book... this book is a must read you wont be able to put it down.
Hilarious and entertaining

This book was a blast to read! Headhunters is pure and wonderful entertainment. Mr. Bass captures a spirit and heart in Monte Carlo that bridges between the fantasy world of super-wealth and the dreams of individual shortcomings. The style fits the narrative (I don?t agree that it?s confusing nor do I think it?s sexist). It?s plain fun, a fantasy reminiscent of 1950?s sensibility (with a modern sexual appeal) captured in a Cinderella spirit that works for both the male and female reader (guys will get a kick out of the ?debonair? ladies-men who are just as sad, shallow, hopeful and full of life as the female protagonists). In the end, Headhunters is unapologetically entertaining, not something to read too seriously but with an eye towards laughter and relaxation.
oh my, a delightful book

i highly recommend this book for more than a few chuckles and the hopefulness of romance in a very unexpected way. four women get plunged into their fantasy by taking action and end up in monte carlo. they meet four men and adventure, romance take up residence. this is fast paced and probably could have endured more character development. but it is quick and witty and will leave the reader satisfied.
Roll the Dice - "Headhunters" is All Aces!

When I saw the cover and read that this book was about gals in Monaco, I immediately picked it up to read this summer. (I have always dreamed of going to Monaco before I die!) After reading Jules Bass' novel, I say to you all: "Pack my bags, I'm there!" and you will want to come with me!I loved the four women who dream BIG. (We all have friends just like them). Bass cleverly crafts a trip to die for...but, of course, there are troubles along the way. "Headhunters" is fast paced, thrilling the reader not to put the book down. If you love Sidney Sheldon, I beg you to read it. Jules Bass is his competition...and on his first book, too. Enjoy.I can't wait for the movie to come out...I will be the first in line. If they need any extra's, (Mr. Bass, let me know) I want to be there too. Good luck with your future books.
