He is hesitant, but Lily is the widow of his best friend and he doesn't want to lose her friendship, so he agrees and she gets pregnant after the first try.And now confirmed bachelor Eric Mitchell is overly concerned about Lily and her baby. She tells him she can't ever marry, that she feels responsible for the death of her husband, even though he perished in a plane crash, because she claims he was a victim of a family curse. It seems that her grandfather died before her grandmother delivered her mother and her father died when she was an infant, and most recently her husband died before their marriage was a year old. She is determined to stop the curse, she is never going to marry. However, the more she resists, the more determined Eric gets. She's going to father his child, after all. So the question is, can love find a way?Ms. Scott has written a romance around a subject that will keep you interested as well as educating the reader a bit about artificial insemination and what single women go through when they decide to go that route. Plus she managed to keep up a little suspense right up until the last chapter.
