#2 OF THE HAWK CREST SAGA - A sister this time.

I like the use of the pendants and rings as an identity for the siblings. With Simon Gault and Chantalle running through stories to tie the plots together. Simon is keeping up with his evil tendancies [and the journal] It had better betray all of his evil intentions. I hope Angie gets the better of him in the end. Jason Dodd was a strange one - he should have had a couple of more rough and tumble set-to's with someone. When will they find Hiriam? Chantalle is a very likeble madam - but she had better look out for the back stabbing Simon or better yet, his right hand man, Bruce. It is interesting that both of the girls fell into the hands of wealthy women to be raised. And as follows the previous story - Elizabeth Huntington thinks she can take care of herself - with no thought of the troubles she raises with her impatience. Another bull-headed woman. Jason and Simon have a past that needs resolving. Too many men disappear that may prove a threat to Simon from his blockade running days. One that got killed was Byron, a friend of Jason's. Yup! you could have left out the couping scene and not missed it. But, oh well, the story as a whole comes together for our characters and makes good reading. Just different. You don't want to miss the Hawk girls showing up [in anticipation of them finding their brothers.] Definitely Recommended - M -- still a combined good read.

Excellent Read!

This was an excellent story in and of itself, but as a series it was wonderful. The story and people are great! Read all 4 books in 2 days. Could not put them down. This series is also authored by Constance O'Banyon. Loose yourself in another time and place!

What a great story!

Hawk's Passion is a great continuation of the Hawk series. I love series, and this is one of the best. I loved the first book, this book, and I am looking forward to the other two. It takes you a while to realize that Elizibeth Huntington is really Laura Annd Hawk, since she doesn't know who she is either. The love story will leave you breathless--this author is one of the best, and I always enjoy her books.

Good Read!

I liked this book alot better than the first in the series. I enjoyed the love story between Jason and Elizabeth. I am just a little disappointed in the fact that she didn't meet her brother. I also felt that the end was shoved together to get the book finished. Otherwise it was a good read.

fine western romance

In 1866 Galveston, Texas, Elizabeth Huntington investigates her murky past as she remembers nothing except being adopted after an orphanage fire and raised in New York City with love and affection. Her only clue to her roots is a pendant with the name "Sarah Jane" inscribed on it. Her quest brings her to shipping mogul Simon Gault, who not only recognizes the pendant; he knows who she is, but reveals nothing. He has plans for Elizabeth. Jason Dodd finds a shocked Elizabeth with blood all over her and dripping from her hands looking over a murdered body. He quickly takes her with him to protect her from Simon, who he obsesses over exposing the man's nefarious lethal dealings. When she leaves the shelter of their hiding place, someone shoots Elizabeth. Jason takes her again to safety while wondering how to keep her safe from the likes of the depraved Simon. The second Hawk tale (see HAWK) is a fine western romance that brings vividly to life Texas just after the Civil War. The prize of this solid historical is the tug of war between Jason (representing good) and Simon (evil) with Elizbath as the rope. Though the two male rivals are somewhat stereotyped, readers will enjoy Elaine Barbieri's interesting Americana tale. Harriet Klausner
