Artificial insemination, it's become almost common place in today's society. The process has opened new doors for couples who can't have children on their own as well as allowing women the chance to mother a child without the need of a mate. Beautiful, strong-willed Angela Justice considers this very option in HAVING HIS CHILD. Quickly approaching thirty and still single without the hope of a lasting romance in sight, she desperately wants a child and sees no other alternative. Dr. Lucas Ryder, Pediatrician and Angela's best friend of fifteen years, has a different outlook on the situation. As a boy, Lucas suffered a terrible childhood. He grew up without a father and his mother abandoned him at a young age. Although his heart is consumed with love for children he has a very strong opinion of single parenting and no desire to have children of his own. However, when the fifteen years of feelings between Angela and Lucas begin to flourish in a different light and they begin to touch as they never have before, he insists some things should be left up to fate and passion. Despite the newfound feelings that are growing deeper between the two of them with every touch, Angela remains determined to follow through with her plan. Lucas may love her as a woman now and not just as a friend but his decision of not having children hasn't changed. Then, just short of the sperm bank all plans are off. Angela discovers she's become pregnant the old fashioned way after all. She's pregnant with Lucas's baby.HAVING HIS CHILD is a soft, sweet, contemporary romance filled with modern day problems and powerful characters that will sweep you away to a new land. The story line covers a delicate issue while twisting and turning in suspenseful ways holding the readers attention to the very end. Definitely a delightful read!

taken from the back of the book -- "STOPPED SHORT AT THE SPERM BANK! A powerful, primal longing to be a mother enveloped Angela Justice. But her best friend, Dr. Lucas Ryder, intercepted the strong-willed unwed beauty at the sperm bank door, insisting some things be left to passion. At his touch, her body became a map of desire -- and he traveled every inch, leaving her pleasured, exalted and pregnant." from the series THE BABY BANK; Where love is measured in pounds and onces! -- also belonging the FETZER'S "Wife, Inc." series -- Silhouette's description of "Passionate, powerful and provocative" really fits this book. ---- The story is moving and gets you caught up in some wonderful characters -- you can almost believe these people are real -- this, to me makes a great book and a great recommendation for the author --- you should thoroughly enjoy this book - in my catalogue it rates an excellent [story] with a --M for lack of morality [attitude] but over all an almost keeper.

The woman in question wants a baby very much. To the point she is going to get a sperm doanner. Enter our hero, her best friend he hates the idea of doing this. Passion errupts and need less to say the baby is concieved the old fashioned way. A delightful book well written modern and very funny in places. A book for a day at the beach.
