I gotten the like new

I know it’s used but the pages are completely folded and pretty much every page is COMPLETELY written in…

It brought a lot of light to things that had to come off in my life.

It is very informative. A lot had to come off in my life and once He helped me start to surrender I could see Him moving me forward to make me stronger. I wasn't stuck. I could see Him there holding me and carrying me through sickness, recovery, from surgery, and being in these things, because He was giving me beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. Through recovery, sleeplessness, and menopause He truly has sat with me...taking care of me, and being there for me like no one else ever has. He is the Way when there seems to be no way! We trust in You, Lord, You have the final say! For women everywhere who are overwhelmed by the schedules either they placed on themselves, because they thought they were doing the right thing, or for women who need to sit with Him, because He said to Come, all of you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Mary knew sitting with Him was more important, but Martha only knew it after He gently rebuked her for what she thought was more important. The only thing I didn't like when doing the Bible study in the back, is that when she referred to going back to a page in the book, the page number was always wrong. I would have to go and find the page, or answer it as best as I could. I wonder why editing didn't find this before printing it? Don't let that stop you from reading it! It is an excellent resource for women overloaded by life and the demands we place on ourselves and/or others place on women everywhere.

Book was dirty old not in good condition.

I know these are used books and most of the time it’s not this bad. This book I don’t want to even put my hands on. Old stained and dirty pages. Please do better

I believe every Woman should read this book. I have truly been Blessed since I started reading this book. It have truly opened up my eyes.

Awesome

I do a small group Bible study in my church. I ordered 12 books, word has spread about the study and I have to order more books.. A lot of women opened up about their relationship with God and we discussed which sister they were most like. All women should read this

An in depth personal look at Mary & Martha

I found this book helpful and inspiring for my own personal use. It has stuck with me ever since I consumed its contents. We were also able to use it for our women's Bible study at church. I am anxious to now read Having A Mary Spirit. I would highly recommend!

Not your ordinary "self-help" book

Part self-help, part auto-biography; this book addresses the conflict women feel between finding intimacy with God and "having it all." Joanna uses the story of Mary and Martha to illustrate how Jesus wants to have an intimate relationship with us. A relationship where we spend time with him in "the living room"; in love and fellowship and not one where we are only serving him in "the kitchen." While many books like this preach with a sense of "I've accomplished this and you can too!" Joanna leads us along with her own struggle to find balance and peace. This helps to receive more of the lesson without feeling inadequate. Easy to read with a great many stories and references to scripture, this book doesn't give you a step by step "how to" lesson. Instead, it lets you ride along in Joanna's journey and perhaps start your own journey out of the kitchen and into the living room.

A Unique and In Depth Look at Martha and Mary

For all of us who continually find ourselves in Martha's shoes, this book is a great resource and study guide! The author's writing is very unique and clever. She takes less than 10 verses and expands them into a book rich with ways to become a little less like Martha and a little more like Mary. I suggest going through this book with a discipleship partner to make it even more enriching. The study guide in the back is complimentary, but I enjoy just a little bit more on the studying part. There are memory verses throughout and self-reflection guides as well. However, the study guide is extremely easy to fit into a tight schedule! (: Enjoy

Requires an Annual Reading

I have read this book 3 times now and each time God speaks to me in a different way--where I am at that moment. I am a classical Martha, but after reading this book, was told I had "softened"--which is a good thing. After reading "Secrets of the Vine" and this book, I find a constant desire to spend more time "abiding" and "sitting at Jesus' feet"--which will be a life-long desire. This book is a must-read for any Christian woman who desires to grow in her faith and walk with Christ on a daily basis.

All Christian women need to read this book!

I learned so much about the Mary and Martha from reading this book. I went back and read all I could in my Bible about these two sisters of Lazarus. This is one of my Top 10 Christian books -...!I lead a small group Bible Study in my home and we're studying the book of John. Time and again, I would open this book by Joanna Weaver and read to my group out of it. Finally, they all decided they needed a copy of their own! And some of them are in turn passing it on to other friends and relatives. The author makes herself vulnerable in this book, passing along personal anectdotes and stories we can all identify with. This book shows you how to sit at Jesus feet like Mary while still getting stuff done like Martha. Please read it - you'll love it too!...!May God bless you and your family!
