Angel: Haunted

This book was great!Cordelia has a vision while at the house and has to give clues to the gang threw the show. Gunn's gang find out that a women's body was dumped with no identification marks what so ever. What's the deal and are the two related? You have to read to find out. This book had me from the first page, I couldn't put it down. The story with Cordelia in the "Haunted House" was what had me keep reading. I also love the fact that it showed Angel, Gunn, and Wesley all doing their own thing to figure out the case. This is one of the better Angel books I have read and I recommend it to everybody!

Angel: Haunted - WHat I thought

This is the first Angel book in the series not to feature Doyle as a main character (although he does get a small cameo). Interested, I decided to read. Twenty pages in, I was hooked. First of all the story is set on a reality TV show which puts people in a Haunted House who are competing for $100,000. Cordelia is on of the contestants and she sees it as sure fire ticket to fame, as she lives with one ghost, so a house full of them shouldn't be a problem. However one her first night Cordelia has a painful vision of Kirsten St. Clair, one of the women who didn't get chosen for the show but nevertheless struck up a friendship with Cordelia. Menawhile Angel, Wesley and Gunn are debating what's going to happen to Cordy after the show. After all, if she becomes a big star then she proberbly won't be working for them anymore. However when they watch the first show they get a message from Cordy concerning the vision and start investigating. Sounds good, doesn't it. Well, this was certainly a good read. I would definitly recommend this to any Angel fans. The writing style and characterization is excellent. Congrats Jeff Marriotte.

For Rent: Large Home with Demons

Today is Cordelia's main chance at a Hollywood career. The lucky lady has been accepted as a contestant on a new version of 'Survivor.' The plan; spend 5 days in a 'haunted house' along with eight other contestants. The last survivor gets $100,000 and lots of good media exposure. Laughing Pig Productions is hoping it has a wild hit on its hands. In any case, the special effects are spectacular, bloody writing oozing from the walls, panthers in the bedrooms, and nighttime visitations. If they were special effects, that is.Cordelia has hardly arrived on set when she has a vision. Something horrible is happening to Kirsten St. Clair, who Cordelia met when trying out for the show. Desperate, Cordelia manages to get a message out to Angel, Wesley, and Gunn. They find Kirsten has definitely disappeared without a trace. When Angel invades Laughing Pig to get more information he discovers that Kirsten is not the only actress that has disappeared from their stable. His only other clue is the sighting of a strange limousine. On top of everything else, Gunn is investigating a murder on his own turf. A woman's body turns up stripped of all identifying marks - like her fingerprints and face. The first (and only clue) he turns up is, you guessed it, further appearances of the ghostly limousine. Somehow the corpse, Kirsten, Cordelia, Laughing Pig, and the limousine are all tied together, and several lives depend on it. When our heroes tangle with several new flavors of demon they find a distinct odor of lawyer - the Wolfram and Hart kind. What Jeff Mariotte has created here is a classic and complex Angel tale which displays all of the four main characters at their best. Mariotte is a veteran Angel writer who can be counted on to deliver the right proportions of action and character. 'Haunted' is set post-Darla, and is a pleasant change from previous books in this series. Gunn and Wesley are well fleshed in, and Cordelia is great in a lead role. While the plot isn't totally original, it has a lot of unique twists and turns that spell plenty of excitement for Angel's fans. Get ready for some serious exorcism.

Buy it!

Awesome book...one of the best Angel books so far! The writer did a very good job writing it. I especially liked how much he exposed the drastic character changes in Cordy. There was also some humor mixed in with the creepy stuff...well written and well worth your time!

On par with the show

Finially, the writers of the Angel book series have choosen to update their books to events relating to the TV series. Wesley and Gunn have replaced Doyle and although Fred has not appeared in the novels yet, the story lines from last season and this season have.In Haunted, Angel is dealing with his emotions surrounding Cordelia as he is doing in the show. Haunted is a well written book with surprises around every turn. Cordelia has won a spot as a contestant on a reality series in a "haunted house". ALthough she at first believes all the events to be made up, she starts to consider other ideas when she begins hearing and seeing things. The contestants are at the mercy of the ghosts as all outside communication has been cut off. Cordelia has the visions now as she does in the TV series and ANgel will do anything to ease her pain. It's one of these visions that draw her to warn Angel over live television about a girl in trouble. Angel and the gang must figure out COrdelia's message and save the girl as well as save COrdelia from the haunted house.ANyone who enjoys the TV show will much enjoy this novel.
