Not as described

Book came without a cover jacket. Did not state that it would be missing. Very disappointed. Book was going to be used for a display, now I have to buy another book. Waste of money. Please let us know when a book is missing the jacket!!

Bad binding

I received this book today, along with two others. This book was rated as very good condition, however, and opening my package, I could see that the binding in this book and the pages falling out if this is what’s considered very good I’m extremely disappointed. This is the first of all my orders that I’ve found disappointment in any description as a quality of the book, how will it be rectified

Not good condition AT ALL

The story itself is wonderful and an absolute favorite of mine, I got this copy for my daughter who is just beginning to love it and this book is in horrific condition with mold spots on the edges of the pages and lipstick kiss marks on several pages, I am VERY unhappy with the shape of this book..

was supposerd to be very good condition

it didn't even have the dust sleeve and three of my other Potter books didn't either and one of them has multiple pages written in - in perm marker.

My son’s favorite of all!

We adore Harry Potter because it sparks my son's imagination. It keeps him engaged for most of the day.

Quality was worse than paid for

The book is great for my daughter, but honestly the quality was supposed to be very good and it really would only meet and okay standard. MAYBE good standard if stretching it. Why pay extra for better quality that won't be delivered?

No Dustcover!!! 😡😡

This book was advertised with a dustcover and when I opened the package, there was no dustcover on the book. I am extremely disappointed and angry that I was sent a book without a dustcover. Why would I even want it without the cover?!!?????

Good condition

It came in good condition

Don't expect what you see in the image

Don't expect to get what you pay for. Ordered a hardcover book expecting it to come intact with its jacket, even picked one that had the right jacket to match my set. Instead I got a naked book. Is a real bummer because that's the only reason I bought the book and they told me that there was no refund available and if I didn't want it to just donate it somewhere. Terrible customer service and business practices

Wrong version

I received some sort of sample copy that started with chapter 4 and ended at chapter 11. Not the correct book.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone

Sent me the book but it's not from the specific publisher that I wanted. I know it's a small thing, but having one produced at Bloomsbury verse scholastic was very important to me. Love the book though. Always a favorite!

Very disappointed they should at least let you know if the paper cover is on the book or not I was e

I love Harry Potter but they should let you know if the book you are buying has the paper jacket on or not.

Was not as expected, missing dust jacked and pages.

Not thrilled with the condition of the book I received, dust jacket was missing and a page was ripped out. That’s not “almost new” condition

Good condition but sadly no dust jacket

Great story

Bro

I never got my order. I only got Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets, and madame bovary.

Classic story of the boy who lived.

The book is great read it a good few times, the cover is not the one I was hoping for, got the Canadian version of the book a little disappointed as I was hoping to collect all of the us versions. Wish they would have better advertising and explanations of which book you are getting.

Disappointed, ordered good, looks fair/acceptable, parts of paper spine missing and dust jacket is

Disappointed, ordered good, looks fair/acceptable, parts of paper spine missing and dust jacket is missing.

I got sent poor quality, not good

This is my rating for the Minalima edition, which I ordered in good condition and it came in awful condition. Thankfully the pages are good but the spine is weak and the cover/back are very loose. The outside is so damaged along the edges and on the corners. I’ve never had an issue with TB before so it’s not like I’m never coming back, just disappointed!

Cover torn

False.. hardback not in good condition. Cover torn almost in half.

Beautiful book….but

I purchased the collectors minalima edition, and ordered it “Like New.” Like New should not imply that there is spine damage/tearing to the book. For the price, I didn’t think it would have come like that. I definitely would have considered this to be good condition, far from “Like New”

False advertising

I should have looked closer. I thought I was getting the book pictured, which was printed the same time as the other books I have and I was sent the UK version. I wanted to get a matching set.

Perfect

It came very fast and it looks almost like new

no dust jacket :(

I was pretty disappointed as the book arrived without dust jacket!! Wish this was clarified or mentioned somewhere in the listing

This was supposed to be a gift to start someone in this series.

I have gotten quite a few books from this site and not had any problems until now. This book was supposed to be like new but the corners are torn and the pages look stained I'm really disappointed.

Great job!

Book as advertised My daughter loves it Thank you!

Arrived damaged. Way past acceptable condition.:(

Very Disappointing

Purchased a “like new” hard cover copy but it came with NO JACKET. I’ll end up donating it…

I’ll end up donating it…Definitely not like new.

First time read.

Had seen all the films and decided to read the series. I like the little details of Harry's life so far and how he is becoming a more confident self. Like how Hogwarts is described. Dislike would be Draco Malfoy,.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Harry Potter is not a normal boy. He lives with the Dursley family after the deaths of his parents, Lily and James Potter. When he turns 11, he gets a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When he meets Ron Weasley, and Hermoine Granger, and the Groundskeeper, Rubeus Hagrid, they become friends. During the first year, they fight a troll, and they form enemies, like Draco Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle. Soon Harry finds out that not all wizards are good; some are evil. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a children's fantasy classic by British author J K Rowling. Read the novel, before seeing the movies.

so good

such a great read loved it

Was Captivated from the first page.

This started a craze for Harry Potter through my entire family. Excellent story that leaves you excited for the next book.

Beware if using this site to purchase gifts!!

I hate to be this way but I used this site to get these books for my daughters birthday. Maybe it states somewhere that you are not guaranteed what is pictured but I believed the book would at least have the dust jacket! It was the WHOLE point of buying it here. Just made me sad because I couldn't give her the full set like I hoped and now will most likely donate this book because it isn't what I wanted, so I'm out that money.

perfect

very good quality

God help me.

Twice now I ordered this hardcover and got 2 different levels of display. Both of them came without a dust cover and when I emailed them the first time they said my second order would have one. Nope.

Folded

I bought a like new copy and it came very folded front and back. It was blended in some parts of. The rest of the book is fine but it wasn’t what I payed for so it was a little stressful.

Was Not the book I ordered

I was supposed to get a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone but a totally different book was sent to me. My daughter, who thought she was about to read a book that was her 11th birthday present, was very disappointed when she showed me her book. It was a white hardback of another novel. I’m a Harry Potter fan and I know what the American Versions hardbacks are supposed to look like. This was the only book in my order that disappointed me.

Received my Harry Potter book and Literature Guide today. For the first time, I am disappointed. T

Rating is for story Not the "book" I received.

I have it already; great book 5 stars.

fantastic stories...

nice book and interesting stories..

More exciting to read as mother language!!

Of course, JKR's first book was the most eye-widening book among the 5 books (up till now) and it's more exciting to read in mother language as it takes time for a chinese to read an english book. (I guess there's no need for me to explain the greatness of the Rowling books) So lets go back to the translation. It's nice (but not great) as this edition is translated by Taiwanese which use lots of slang language which other Chinese-speaking people do not understand. So, personally, I would suggest the Simplied Chinese editon for nicer translation.

Wonderful Book!

The world of Harry Potter is magical and enthralling in any language. Many reviewers have criticized the omissions in translation. It should be noted that an accurate and interesting book cannot be translated to another language verbatim. Many bits of humor would be lost in unnatural descriptions. Instead, the translator appended when needed to make a sound linguistic and cultural switch. Enjoyable for Francophones and native english-speakers with good french reading abilities.

Viel Spass!

I read this in German before reading it in English. It's a lot of fun in both languages. In fact, it's great for improving one's skills in another tongue, because it's so enjoyable, you'll keep on reading. Taught me a lot of words that my German teachers never bothered with.
