This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. For a 15 year old kid he has amazing view points on life, hard work and people. It is easy to read and worth buying.
A courageous young man's life on the Bering Sea in 1937.

In a Melville-like tale, the true account of a young man emerging from bare-chested innocence to the beginnings of a powerful adventurer, this story of 1937 life on a four-masted schooner on the northwest coast of Alaska is an exceptionally worthwhile read. Like an old friend recounting a fascinating experience, Mr. Hofvendahl writes a compelling story of the power of nature and of the iron men who survived on the last of the heavy ships of sail.
