Unable to help himself, Cookie Monster eats the cake he'd baked to serve at his birthday party, but his friends come through with appropriate presents so all the guests can be fed. This description may be from another edition of this product.
My grandson began enjoying this book when he was 9 months old. He's now 15 months old and needs a new copy, because his copy has been read so many times. He loves to turn the pages while we read the book to him and loves to pretend to read it out loud to himself. Bert, Ernie, Grover, and Big Bird are part of the party-scene. The story line is great and the illustrations hold a toddler's interest.

liked the book. The best part was when he gave everyone a piece of cake. First, big bird came to Cookie Monsters birthday party and gave him a yellow cake for his present.

This children's book is aimed at young kids learning to read. It has large type that doesn't overrun the pictures, so young eyes can focus clearly on the words. Simple vocabulary and a fun topic (eaking cake at a birthday party!) makes this a fun book for a preschooler's library.
