Jo Van Allen is a romance writer from New York and her publisher George Barrett wants her to branch out, to start writing about a different kind of man, so he sends her to his old school chum's ranch in Wisconsin to do research on the kind of character he's interested in, which is said school chum, Chase Riordan.Chase Riordan has a dude ranch next to his spread and he is constantly fending off women who have come to the wilds of Wisconsin (I didn't know Wisconsin had wilds, much less ranches) to bed a cowboy, or to marry one. So when he comes home to a clean house and a beautiful woman, he naturally assumes it's another bimbo come to use him as a notch in her belt. He insults her, even though she's made him a fine dinner, which he winds up sharing with her after he finds out she's the writer his pal had sent and not a husband hunter. So they get of to a rocky start and have some rocky moments, but this was a romance that I read with relish. It had good and tender moments in it plus tons of tension. I liked it and I think you will too.
