Steve Sinchak

Steve Sinchak wrote Hacking Windows XP which is a great book and it convinced me to buy this version for Vista. I've used it some for tuning up Vista, but have not tried all the features as in XP. Still a great source for tuning Vista just the way you like it with excellent explanations on what your doing.

Hacking Vista short review

Amazing book ...very helpful and well written. Everything you need is in the book. New user of Vista and I must say I made excellent progress to make them work well with this book.

Excellent

After doing my own research on how to customize, and maximize the performance of the Windows Vista OS from all over the net. This is the only source you will need. The cover of the book may seem a little intimidating to the average user, but if you follow the specific instructions given to execute the numerous hacks, you should have no problems. I highly recommend anyone new to Vista, to buy this book. You won't regret it.

A Winner

I bought Hacking Windows Vista to help me make a decision about upgrading to Vista. After reading it, I got more than I bargained for -- it was not just a superficial book dealing with cosmetic changes. It went into depth about making Vista secure, a major concern of mine. It was so well written that nothing was left to guesswork. For example, detailed instructions show you how to undo the hacks that the author suggests. Yes, I guess I could go all over the Internet looking and eventually get the information the author provides. But the information would be scattered. It is nice to know that it is all in one book so I can start out doing things right from the beginning. No, I don't know the author. After using computers professionally and personally for twenty-two years, I know a good book when I see one.
