In this book, Charles Finney deals with how guilt is measured according to the light we have. He also covers God's anger, the danger of hardening the heart, and what it means to persist in sin. He covers these topics and more in a way that leaves an impression on ones mind and heart. I recommend this book to all.
Very sharp, clear minded treatment of this difficult topic

Charles Finney is a brilliant writer. He turned his life over to the Lord at age 29 while in the midst of a successful career as a lawyer and felt he could no longer argue legal cases in court but now was called to argue his cases for the Lord.Finney shows a deep understanding of scripture and a brilliant ability to help others understand it well. In this book, he covers the difficult topic of the Guilt of Sin. From the title of the book I thought this might be nothing more than a writtenbrow-beating of sinners, but this is not the case.He goes into some concepts of guilt and makes a clear distinction between true guilt and false or imagined guilt. The book covers the sinners dangerous condition and why it this is appropriate and necessary for the greater good. It talks about when a sin is fatal, and about the anger of God and how that anger is an extension of God's love. The book is part of his evangelistic sermons series and I would recommend it and the rest of the series highly to anyone who wishes to lead others to the Lord.
