BEAR ESSENTIAL

The author takes you through his developing admiration for the great bear, going from hunter to observer. Enos Mills beacame a fascinated observer of the great bear, and many of his observations were proven correct by later scientific study. The descriptions of complex bear behaviors and the evident thinking and learning of the grizzly were delightful. Authors were still 'borrowing' from this book a half century later. An essential read for anyone who cares about the grizzly.

A very good book about bears

This book is for anyone who wants to know real facts about real bears. If you want to break away from the mythology about bears, this is an excelent start. Enos A. Mills is an excelent naturalist with many years in the outdoors.
