Please keep 'em coming Ms. Ford!

I have read the entire GRITS collection and this was yet another favorite for me. Her books just make me smile. Read it for some light-hearted fun and sweet advice that reads like the adoring southern mother we all wish we had.

The Spirit of Southern Women

I love Deborah Ford's collection of GRITS books, and this addition was another great one. The book focuses on the spirit, traditions, and friendship of and between Southern women. The special friendship of female family members is also given a nice emphasis. The book can be useful to anyone trying to gain understanding about the importance of friendship and how to be a good friend, although I love how the book focuses on the Southern women. Women of the South are known so well for their friendliness and hospitality towards others. Being from the North, I enjoy reading about Southern culture and how I can incorporate more of that culture into my life. I have gained a lot of insight from Deborah's books. As the other reviewer mentioned, I also love how real-life stories about friendship from Southern women are added as side-bars to the book. Reading this book really wanted me to focus more on being a good friend and being more hospitable towards others. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.

Girlfriends are Forevah True

A great descriptive work of what girlfriends mean to southern women. A wonderful guide for ladies new to the south and its quirky ways. An inspiration to belles who find themselves seeking a friend or trying to keep a friendship from going under. I especially love that Ford included many girlfriend stories from regular, everyday folks all over the south - a nice downhome touch. Lucy Adams, author of If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny

SIMPLY TOO PRECIOUS FOR WORDS

THE PERFECT GIFT FOR EVERY SOUTHERN GIRLFRIEND, SISTER, MOTHER, DAUGHTER,ETC. SOME PARTS ARE A "TWO HANKIE" READ. GREAT INSIGHT INTO THE BELLE RELATIONSHIPS.
