Missing the magnets

Ordered the book green eggs and ham but was missing the most fun part of the, the magnets!

Wholesome and comical!

Children will learn about judgment and trying new things in this storybook; however, it's great for picky eaters!

Boringly Painful

this was the greatest book in the whole wide universe! it made me cry, and i don't cry often. I mean i'm 84 years old, and i never have anything to cry about. not to mention that i have cancer all over my body, but we won't go there. people need to read this book. i gave it to my grandkids, and they threw it at me and called me eggs. so, people need to read this adorable sad book!

Learning fun

This classic childrens book is a first rate way for a beginning latin student to practice reading skills.

¡Me gusta mucho este libro!

After I had read this book to my nieces and nephews, my nine-year-old nephew picked up "Corre, perro, corre" by P.D. Eastman and read it all the way through in English, including "me gusta," which he had not heard prior to hearing this book. Reading is a great language teacher!I asked the kids why the main character's name is Juan Ramón instead of Sam, and my nephew said immediately, "Well, it has to rhyme with jamón, of course."I had purchased this book for my students, but it was obvious I was going to have to get another for my nieces and nephews! At least I have no problem knowing what to get them for birthdays and Christmas gifts! (They certainly don't need any more toys!)

NOT ENOUGH STARS FOR THIS ONE!

This book has been around for such a very long time and it is still going strong. I can remember reading this book to my eldest daughter when she was three or four years old, and the book was read to her so many times that she could eventually repeat back every word to me. My daughter is now 36 years old and her daughter is 12. Both can still recite all the words without the book. Over the years, the catchy words will forever remain with you.Aside from the simple words, the book portrays a very important message - do not be afraid to try new things. As a parent and counsellor, I can attest to the fact that message can be one of life's greatest learning experiences not only for children but for adults as well. We never know what we can accomplish or what we can achieve until we try. In addition, some things are not always what they seem. If you have never read a Dr. Seuss book, you have no idea of what you or your children are missing. Of all the Seuss books, this is an all-time favourite.

The translation couldn't be better...

The translators have done a WONDERFUL job with this book. Obviously Spanish does not have the same rhythm as English so I know they had quite a task before them, but they met the challenge. I'm so glad I'll have one of my favorite childhood books in my husband's native language to share with our future children. I'm sure our kids will have even more fun since my husband's name is Juan Ramón! I've already used it several times in Spanish classes that I've taught--to children and college students. Another challenge met by one of the translators: ¡Oh, cuán lejos llegarás! (Oh, the places you'll go!)

Many memories will be shared over a good book, starting with the time-honored tradition of the bed-time story. Who here remembers begging their parents to read just one more book? "I promise I will go right to bed after the next one;" "I'm not tired yet;" "But I really like both of the books. I don't want to choose." Do any of these sound familiar?
