History deals with human actions and activities, be it positive or negative. Developmental or retrogressive, all add up to make history. Without human activities all of the earth would be idle, stagnant and boring. In all, history is replete with imprints of human roles in various spheres of activities ranging from politics, economics to social. Ultimately, human activities are related, they are multifaceted as they interact and affect each other both by their own internal dynamics and external factors. As a pointer in the socio-cultural perceptive, religion as a cultural phenomenon has been deeply impacted by global political interplay. At the same time it has been used in politics to affect and shape society. Essentially, in the practice of global politics most conquerors or colonisers ride on the horse back of religion to authoritatively subdue and erode the existing culture of their victims, the conquered or colonised people, and consequently impose their traditional cultural practices on their dependents. With regard to this line to thought, initially the Romans though did not impose their traditional pagan religion on their conquered people, however with the turn of the years following the introduction of the Jewish religion into the Roman society and the adoption of the message of the Bible which eventually led to the establishment of this new religion in the empire, this religion which combines Roman pagan practices and aspects of the bible led to the development and establishment of the Roman Catholic Church. At the end, the Roman Catholic Church was to play very significant role in the political history of the empire. The church became a tool in the hands of the emperors as they conquered and colonised other countries and nations. With this trail of conquest they extended the authority of the Roman Empire and influence of the church with the conversion of kings and the establishment of churches. This also means that the Latin language was adopted as the official language of the church and by translation of the entire world, just as the Bible was translated and read in Latin in an official capacity by the church. It was quite later that the Hebrew Bible was translated into several languages including the English language. These translations were accompanied by serial errors for very obvious reasons. Consequently, these errors which are not evident to bible readers have had very negative impact on the bible and of course in the applications of its principles. In similar way, as the French, Spanish, Belgian and British empires expanded so it carried along the influence of their languages. Again, religious missionaries were at the forefront of colonisation efforts, now the bible has been firmly translated into all these languages, so it was quite simple to envangelise and preach the bible in the language of the colonialists with severe consequences for prospective believers.
