The greatest thing about sports is that with few exceptions, at any given time one person or team can defeat the other person or team. This book is a brief catalog and description of some of the most unexpected victories in sports history. The events chronicled are: *) The Washington Redskins defeat of the Denver Broncos in the 1988 Super Bowl. *) The U. S. hockey team defeating the Soviet team in the 1980 Olympics. *) The Kansas City Royals defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1985 World Series and the Minnesota Twins beating the Cardinals in the 1987 World Series. *) The Portland Trailblazers beating the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1977 NBA finals. *) The New York Jets win over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. *) Muhammad Ali's victory over George Foreman to win the heavyweight title and Sugar Ray Leonard's victory over Marvin Hagler. *) Villanova's incredible victory over Georgetown in the 1985 NCAA title game. *) The New York Mets victory in the 1969 World Series over the Baltimore Orioles.
