Helpful book for those new to the area

We found a more recent edition of this book at a local bookstore upon arriving on the Kitsap Peninsula. If you are new to the area or soon to relocate, I recommend purchasing this book if only for an overview of the multitude of recreational and educational (sometimes at the same time!) opportunities in this area. Call prior to setting off on any of the journeys and do some research. The first trip we took was what the authors say is the "only hike for children" on the Kitsap Peninsula and turned out to be an all-day affair that was FAR too advanced for novice climbers. (Gold Creek Trail) We learned our lesson, however, and now do more research before embarking on any of the recommended trips!
