I am Bored and angry

I have read other books by this duo but had to be the most boring book that I have read in a long time. It was too long and uninteresting. Writing about a doll company with no nonsense that I could have cared less about with 2 boogie women who are as lost as "anybody in the dark" left me just mad that I wasted my money on this trash. Pat was so rich that she bored herself and those around her and the way she flaunts her wealth and uncaring nature was a reason to slap in her face. Marcus and the baseball ramblings simply put me to sleep. This might have beeen better if they explored the love life of DeJohn and Tiffani more . Gayle and her daughter, Vanessa was so dysfuntional and the way they described Ramsey departure was confusing and "way out of left field. I have words for the authors, you "Gotta Keep on Tryin" because this is a piece of garbage. I shouted for joy when i finally finished and wish I could get my money and time back trying to read such a downer.

A strong narration by the authors

Virginia DeBerry and Donna Grant's GOTTA KEEP ON TRYIN receives a strong narration by the authors as it tells of two lifelong friends, close as sisters and reunited as adults, now co-owners of a business. Each must face issues from the past in order to come to grips with the future in this moving story.

Gotta Keep on Tryin'...I Loved It!

This was a great sequel to Tryin' to Sleep in The Bed You Made. I love how the authors were able to incorporate so many everyday issues and concerns that people face. Gayle dealing with so much...an eating disorder, stress due to uncertainty with regard to her business, a recalcitrant daughter (Vanessa), not able to get over a failed relationship until she totally accepts forgiveness. Pat, always having to be strong for everyone else, dealing with a marriage and husband that feels more like a friendship and roommate, feeling snubbed by her husband and confiding in another man from work that has the potential to be a secret lover, and dealing with issues from her past that essentially hampers her happiness in the present. The story is real and engaging. It's a must read!

SO REAL

This was one of the realest books that I have ever read. I could relate or knew someone who could relate to just about every theme in the book. I truly appreciate the authors writing a book that is able to affect the lives of its readers. It is a must read!!!!

Gotta keep trying!!

This book was amazing, an absolutly wonderfu; follow up to years before. Once again these blessed writers created real life issues into a non stop page turning experience. Pat inmy opinion still hasn't learned to relax and be loved, all in all a soft spot for a child that she never knew created something different inside of her, to see her and Marcus tru for a baby woul dbe wonderful, he showed extreme dedication to making it work, his love for Pat is so vivid that it made Pat open to see that love is for her, it works and that is that. Gail's story of bullimia is a story that not alot of folks would be happy to discuss, however the writers painted a clear picture of hidden issues that lies deep behind the lives of a stressful individual. I do do not believe that she got over the death of het mother and the disappearance of her husband, thinking that she was to blame for it all, her daughter Vanessa made sure she paid for it, but the end result was shocking, Ramsey was back and Gail had to call on him to save the only thing that she created besides her story...the love a child was well created here, this book was fantastic and I will sit another 10 years if I have to for part 3.

True Friendship

Deberry and Grant pen a story that's so real. They address issues of friendship, business, marriage, the sport world and being a parent. Sometimes it felt like looking in the mirror.
