Great for Kids Facing a Death in the Family

When Molly and Will's grandmother comes to live with them, she brings her canary, Vivi. Though Vivi soon dies, Granny helps the children understand the loss, and this in turn, prepares them for dealing with Granny's death a short time later. This is a beautifully illustrated and well-written book for parents, teachers and counselors in helping kids understand the realities of death. It is factual and forthright!I have used this book with my own kids and have used it often in school classrooms and with groups of grieving children. It is one of the best out there.
