For use in schools and libraries only. A literal-minded housekeeper causes a ruckus in the household when she attempts to make sense of some instructions. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I was exited to get the Amelia Bedelia collection for my daughters for christmas. I grew up reading and loving the Amelia Bedelia series. Her unconventional and literal way of doing her work throughout the day is hilarious. It is fun to see my daughters love Amelia Bedelia as much as I have.
Amelia Bedelia Goes to Work

Amelia Bedelia doesn't seem to follow orders and instructions very well, but she can certainly march to her own drummer. Don't tell her what to do because she'll always misunderstand, but she knows what she knows. Enjoy a dinner with Amelia Bedelia.
Amelia is going to follow directions! Here comes trouble!

Yes, Amelia Bedelia is going to do the best job she can, according to her understanding of directions! Ohhhh, and this time, she has an entire list of directions to mangle in her own unforgettable manner! Chicken dinner? Sure -- what do chickens like to eat? Potted plants? Get those pots out of the kitchen! The charming illustrations move the story along, and young readers will adore every single page of Good Work, Amelia Bedelia.
Amelia is so endearing

More wacky times with the silliest maid ever...Amelia Bedelia is a total goof and seems to mess everything up with her misunderstanding of the simple directions she's given. She makes a sponge cake, with real sponge. Amelia is silly but very endearing, and you never know what she'll do next!
I love this book

I love the delicious "cakes" she makes and how she misunderstands everything and takes it literally. I was laughing so hard when she served mr and mrs rogers a "chicken dinner" of cracked corn and a "sponge" cake!!! too hilarious
