Good Night Vermont/Board Book

We bought this book for our granddaughter because her relatives are all from Vermont. A great book, lots of colorful pictures of different things that is associated with Vermont.Cows, maple syrup, snow etc. This is a board book so no torn pages, easily cleaned if something spills on it.I think these books are great. Thanks

This little "Vermont" book would be a perfect little read and discuss book for story or circle time!

If you're looking for a board book for young children that is representational of all four seasons in Vermont, this little book does it very nicely. The book starts out during maple sugar season with three children checking out the contents of the buckets on the trees. The sugar shack in the background is in full swing, with steam rising and smoke coming up from the smokestack. Springtime brings new calves to the farm and a mother moose and calf can be seen walking amid the birch trees. Along with the melting of the snow comes the infamous "mud season." Summertime is best for getting out in the fresh air, mountain biking and spending afternoons on a Lake Champlain beach. Hiking, camping and rock climbing are fun things to add to your `to do' list. "Hello, hikers and campers. Don't you love the fresh mountain air?" Fall is a wonderful time to head to the Country Store to buy a pumpkin, some maple candy or sample some Vermont cheese. There is still a bit of time left to fish the stream near the covered bridge or sit on a stone wall with a friend after gathering some maple leaves. When the snow falls it's time to ski, snowboard and create some special snow creatures for the barnyard. This little book is well made and has held up through many readings. I loved the little details that can be seen such as a woodpecker on a birch tree, the tags on the cow's ears and, my favorite, the rock wall. Each of the seasons has many scenes or things a young child may have experienced or will experience. The book is simple in nature, but has many things to "say" without actually discussing them. I think this would be a perfect little read and discuss book for story or circle time in the homeschool or classroom setting.
