tender, sweet, loving, and beautiful book for little ones

This tender book is my two year old daughter's very favorite. The wording is simple, very loving and sweet. The quiet joy shown as the parent and little bear begin their day together, then on the other side get ready for bed, is heartwarming and really appeals to my daughter. In addition, the obvious love the parent and little bear share is beautifully depicted by the exquisite illustrations. Also, the format of the book is unusual and fun; it is accordian-pleated with the morning story on one side and the bedtime story on the other. Another feature that I really like is that the animals are not obviously male or female, or of any particular race, so it can be directly applied to the parent and child reading it. It is really fun to imitate what the bears do - a stretch, smile, tickle, giggle, hug, and kiss for the morning, and a yawn, bath, friend (stuffed animal), story, snuggle, and sweet dream for the night. As a family practice physician and more importantly the mother of two, I am committed to the idea of close bonding between parent and child, and this book is a beautiful illustration of the mutual love and joy a child and parent can share. Altogether, a FANTASTIC book for any young child. Even my ten year old daughter likes it!

Thoroughly delightful book to share with your loved one

This book was wonderfully crafted and uniquely packaged. What a delight it was to get to the end of one side to realize that their was another of beautiful illustrations. Ms. O'Mara certainly captured the beautiful interaction between a parent and a child with these delightful illustrations. Truly a work of art.
