Excellent Guide to the area, but getting out of date

This guide is probably the most well written and thorough guide to the San Francisco peninsula and "Silicon Valley" area I've seen. One of the best features is the relatively lengthy listing of restaurants across different cuisines, locations, and price levels. Also, the restaurant reviews have proven largely accurate, with descriptions long enough for you to decide if it is for you. The other big plus of the book is the detail maps of all of the downtown areas of the importanttowns in the area including Palo Alto, Los Altos, Mountain View, Los Gatos, etc etc. Plenty of info on entertainment, arts, and activities in the area. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the book was published in 1998 and has not yet been updated. I wish there were a 2001 edition. Still, if you can pick this up, enough of the info is still applicable to be a very useful guide.
