Super fans. Groupies. Stalkers. These people will give anything for the idols they worship, be they rock stars, actor, or authors. Or even serial killers. Lori's obsession is with Edmund Cox, who was convicted of butchering more than twenty women. She will do anything to get close to him, so when he gives her a task, she accepts. She has no idea of the horror that awaits her. Edmund says she must go to his cabin in the woods and retrieve a key to deliver to a mysterious figure known only as The River Man. She brings along her sister, and the trip becomes a surreal nightmare, one that digs up Lori's personal demons, the ones she feels bonds her to Edmund. Soon she will learn The River Man is not quite fact or folklore, and definitely not human . . . at least not anymore.
I'm new to the extreme horror genre. This one was definitely gory. Christopher Triana's writing style was beautiful and made for an easy read. He was definitely going for shock and awe when he wrote this. He did not disappoint. This book has all of the subjects I've read most extreme horror books have. It also has brother sister incest, murder of teenagers, murder of others unable to defend themselves, and rape. But somehow the author made simple disloyalty even more heartbreaking in this book than all of the gruesome subjects I explained above. The book was definitely shocking. After finishing this book I felt more heartbroken and sad than shocked. I'd rate it less stars if it wasn't so well written and edited.
Surprising Ending

Thought I knew where this book was going, but I was very surprised by the ending. Theres confusion and thought provoking details that lead you down different paths. All to get into the mind of a criminal.
