Suspenseful and heartwarming!

Susan Grace did such a great job with her debut book! It evokes the flavor of India with all the interesting minor characters (including the animals). She gives us two great main characters to root for and a nice mystery. And the ending is truly touching. Bravo, Ms. Grace!

After reading the terrific novels Destiny's Lady and Forever And Beyond by Susan Grace, this reviewer sought out the previously released Golden Fire. Released before the tales of the pirate Lady Cat, Golden Fire tells the story of Catherine's son James and the lady whom the people of India call Golden Fire. My effort was well rewarded with this marvelous tale in which east meets west in a clash of culture and mysticism. Born in India, Miranda Collins loves India. With an empathic gift that sets her apart from everyone, she believes she will only find acceptance in a land steeped in mysticism and never plans to return to her father's birth land. But when her father is murdered and her own life repeatedly threatened, she finds herself aboard Lord James Grayson's ship, and married to the man, though she knows little about him. Theirs is a marriage of convenience, meant to save Randy from a madman and a murder as well as to uncover the identity of her stalker. Neither partner wants to admit the depth of their feelings, or their hopes for this arranged union. With complex plotting and intricate details, Golden Fire moves from the exotic lands of India to the deceitful drawing rooms of England, weaving a rich tapestry of intrigue and love. EXCELLENT!

Miranda Collins was the daughter of the British governor. She had lived all her life in exotic India. She had an ability that let her feel the pain of humans and animals. This way she could tell the doctors exactly what the symptoms were and where the pain was located in the patient. She was surrounded in her home by animals she had found hurt and nursed to health. One of these was a golden tiger named Sidra who considered Mira to be her cub and protected her fiercely! However, Mira's perfect world was shattered when her father was murdered and several attempts on her life had been made. Nana was Mira's grandmother who lived in England. She sent Lord James Grayson to bring her granddaughter to her. James expected a ten-year-old child. Instead, he met a woman who touched his heart in a way he had vowed never to let happen again. James convinced Mira (not easily) to marry him for her protection and return with him to England to deal with her greedy uncle. *** Here is a book I will NEVER give up! A treasure to add to anyone's collection of "Keepers"! I spent my entire day off of work reading this one instead of doing the errands that needed to be done. I simply could not put it down. Full of suspense, danger, and one of the most passionate romances I have read in such a long time! I highly recommend this book everyone! ***
