undiscovered gem

My two-year old adores this book so much it is well-worth owning a copy. We read it frequently before bedtime and she has nearly the entire text memorized--including unusual words for a 2-year old, like "perfect" and "violin". The rhyming text is a joy, and the simple drawings of a child engaged in various activities, most of which will be familiar to any child, are engaging. I also appreciate the fact that it depicts a child of color, as there are still too few picture books that do. Too bad it is not readily available in hardcover format--because it really is a classic in quality.

We thought it was great

My twins, aged 5, love this book. I highly recommend it for its warmth and pleasurable illustrations. They love to read this book before going to sleep because it calms and quiets them. There really schould be more books for young children such as this. I will treasure it along with my childhood Winnie the Pooh books. It is a classic!

A WARM AND COSY TODDLER BOOK

This is a wonderful book about a youg boy and his best friend (the bear), who do everything together. The rhyming text is just enough to hold the (short) toddler attention span, and the beautiful, colourful ilustrations make for lots of conversation. This book is one that will be repeatedly read until the whole family knows it off by heart! Another great book for this age group is Bright Eyes, Brown Skin, by Cheryl Willis Hudson and Bernette Ford
