A great story / read for toddlers

It's a good idea to start early so when that time comes to go to the dentist, they will be more willing to sit there just long enough to complete the checkup.

Good book for $5-10, not $60!!

First of all: I got this book from Scholastic through my child's preschool in Feb 2008 for maybe $8 along with another book about going to the dentist. These $60 some prices are RIDICULOUS and that is why I am posting. The book in and of itself is great: a brother and sister go to the dentist. The sister has her teeth checked and cleaned; all is fine. The brother has a cavity that needs to be filled and the book explains that process and shows him getting the filling. It talks briefly about good and bad foods for teeth. My 3-year old daughter wanted to read it many times. But don't, please don't spend $60 for it!!! Maybe $10 absolute max for paperback - beyond that, NOT worth it no matter how good it is. What is going through these sellers' minds?

We brought this book with us to the Emergency Room!

I got this book for my son (he was 2 1/2 yr. at the time) so he would be prepared for the dentist when we went. He loved the book and wanted to read it over AND over, and loved finding the duck that is hidden in some of the pages. But it came SO helpful when my son cut his lip open and he had to go to the ER to get stiches. Before we left I grabbed this book to read while we were there because I had a feeling he would need stiches and we would talk about the part in the book when the boy gets a shot. It was SO helpful in trying to explain to our son what he needed to expect and he understood! My son is now 3 and still asks to read this book! I highly recommend it!
