Welcome to a Bible study of God's personal letter to each and every one of us. It is hoped that this study will open up your mind about a God who loves us, and who made us and everything around us. We will be using the Companion Bible's notes and appendixes of E.W.BULLINGER which is a study Bible of the original King James Version of the Bible. We will also be using James Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. By using these two books we can go back into the original Hebrew and Aramaic words of the Old Testament and the Greek words of the New Testament to find the original meanings of them. To understand the Bible better you are going to have to understand the meaning of metaphor: it is a sentence that paints a picture of what God is trying to tell you. The Bible also uses a great deal of symbolism to convey its message to you. A good example of this is in the book of Revelation. A white horse at this time represented the ultimate war machine. Today it could mean a jet airplane, a flying saucer or some other machine used to fight a war. The Bible also makes use of many spiritual numbers to convey important messages to you. As we get into this study we will explain what those numbers stand for and the spiritual significance of them. You will also be getting a lesson in history. What is history? It is a systematic record of events that occurred in the past. It is passed on to us by spoken word, by written word, by fossil remains etc. Why study history? To learn from the success and failures of the past and learn to apply them to our present day lives. Remember history always repeats itself, history always repeats itself.
