The other negative reviews are obviously partial to the New Age System or have Hindu roots that find offense with the blunt exposure. Having a background in the Christian ministry of the occult and the unmasking of New Age propaganda, I find the material highly informative. It is a first hand account of a young English woman, reared in the tradition of Catholicism and growing up in India during the 70's. She departs from her childhood faith to embark on peer-related experiences during her younger years. While some of the content reflects on the fads and cultural events of that period, the overall content is as relevant today as it was then. The book is written in a story form, recounting adventures and sometimes shocking traditions found in the Hindu belief system. It is a great book from a non-educated perspective in the sense that she was not attempting to make a scholarly stand, but rather presents a biography of her experience. No Christian seeking to be informed should be without this one.

This is an eye-opening and well-written book on the roots of the new age movement. It accurately presents the basis of common new age practices, such as yoga meditation. I highly recommend this book and the corresponding video, "Gods of the New Age," as well.
Fascinating Reading From an Author Who's Been There

I highly recommend this book as a fascinating account of how the new age movement has infiltrated Western civilization. The author's description of life in India was enlightening and disturbing. Caryl's style of writing was so easy to read that I couldn't put this book down.
