Zandri, Has done it again!

After reading As Catch Can, I was excited to get the next installment in the Keeper series. I was wondering if he could match the excitement of the first book. I was quite surprised to find that after about 4 pages into it I had no need to be nervous. This book takes you through even more twists and turns than the first. From trying to locate the man driving the black buick that killed his wife to the prision breakout in Mexico, it is non-stop action. As he helps the woman he broke out of prison come to terms with the loss of her child, he realizies that she maybe the only person that can help him get the killer of his wife. If you like a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this book is for you!

La Vida Loca

I was given this book in my Christmas stocking and it was by far the best present that I received. As someone who spent quite a bit of time South of the Border, Zandris' tale takes you far away and constantly reminds the reader that like Toto "we are not in Kansas anymore".

buy this book - a great read

I looked for this book in hard cover but the book store owners told me it was only being published in paper back, the result of some kind of corporate merger, what a disapointment. This book deservse hard cover attention, its a great follow up to As Catch Can.

Great Book!

I really enjoyed this new book from Albany's very own Vince Zandri. Having read his first book, As Catch Can, I was eagerly awaiting the release of the second book in the Jack "Keeper" Marconi series. It was well worth the wait. I was happy to see it was focusing more on the death of his wife and Keeper's struggle with trying to find the elusive "black Buick". It was exciting, gripping and it nicely resolved Keeper's struggle with the death of his wife. Vince wrapped things up with and exciting 'denoument' and allowed Keeper to finally move on with his life. Vince Zandri is surely an author to watch in the new millenium! I look forward to more books by him!

A superb crime thriller

A beat-up Buick with tinted windows slams into the side of a Ford Bronco, killing the passenger. The hit and run driver, a bald man with a long earring and a mustache, leaves behind a shattered person because Jack "Keeper" Marconi cannot adjust to life without his beloved wife Fran. He resigns as a prison warden to become a sleuth.Years later, Jack is remarrying. However, just prior to the ceremony, he stops at the cemetery to visit Fran. He sees the same car that caused his spouse's death, but the driver takes off before Jack can confront him or even obtain the plates. He stands up his fiancee to get drunk at his favorite watering hole, but ends up shooting up the place. Jack's best friend andd attorney Tony not only keeps him out of jail, but also sends him on an assignment. He is to spring Renata Barnes, wife of a producer. She was arrested for smuggling drugs, but authorities believe her husband has something to do with her present troubles. Jack sees a picture of the bald man at the funeral of Renata's child and realizes that several seemingly different events are interconnected, but cannot see why or even how.The Mexican justice system is examined under chilling detail in GODCHILD, a thriller that persuades readers to complete it in one sitting. Jack may have suffered a traumatic loss, but continues to fight back as his grieving and ordeal strengthen his resolve, backbone he will need on his current assignment. Vincent Zandori is a terrific novelist who has written a superb crime thriller.Harriet Klausner
