It's committed to memory...

This book never gets put back on the bookshelf because it is one of my 3 year olds favorite bedtime stories. Every night we reach for this book from his night stand to read. The words written and the photographs spark questions and conversations, with my son, that add to the value of this book. The companion book to this is equally special, God Is with Me Through the Day. I have also shared these books with the kindergarten children that I teach at church. They enjoyed the books so much I purchased classroom copies for the children to enjoy.

Great reading for 2 year old Grandson

I bought this book for my grandson for his 2nd birthday. Not only does my grandson love it, but his grandfather loves it too! Reading for my husband is usually a chore, especially to a 2 year old, but this book has such great pictures to go along with the reading. I love to see them cuddled together in the recliner reading this book - it is like a new book every time they read it because something different catches my grandson's eye on each page.

Wonderful for all ages!

I was introduced to this book by my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group and was impressed by the powerful succinct message. It is sweet, funny, comforting and realistic! I love that the intense expressions on the animal's faces illustrate the feelings so clearly for my little one. I am a teacher and have seen SO many books & own SO many books, so I am picky, especially about what I BUY! I think this book will be a staple in our house for years, so I not only bought this one, but also God is with Me Through the Day, but bought 2 extra copies as gifts! It is the perfect length, long enough to settle someone, but not so long that you wish you could just skip a few pages to get the kiddos to bed! It meets a very important need, to help our children feel secure and have hope, trusting in a wonderful God who loves them (and everyone). Our world is a scary place, but Julie Cantrell highlights the beauty an joy in it! Someone was even saying this book would make a great gift for a college student or person leaving home for a new adventure.

A Children's Book to Treasure

My children love this book! It has become required bedtime reading at our house, so much so that we've memorized the story. My youngest, who knows the book word for word, pretends to read along with me. He finds it so comforting to know that God is with him through the night, taking care of him just as He cares for the tender baby animals that illustrate the story. It's a simple, but powerful, faith-based message that will encourage your children throughout their lives. Buy this book (and its companion, God is With Me Through the Day). You'll be glad you did.

A must read for bedtime!

An amazingly comforting book, this is a must read for families with young children. This short story is perfect for those nights when children need a gentle reminder that they are loved and will always be cared for. The beautiful photos have opened the door to wonderful discussions of the universality of feelings of fear and joy with my children. The simple prose and clear message are the key to this great book. My seven year old asks for this story every night and now wants a seal kiss goodnight every evening! Julie Cantrell has given us a great gift - a book that helps us connect with our children and let them know that they are unconditionally loved. We will pass on our copy for generations.
