I must say, I never knew Sr. Mary Angela as she passed away before I was able to meet her. I know her order, and they are very, very neat people. My husband's aunt her Sisters in this Benedictine order, share with me this wonderful Benedictine Spirituality. If you are looking for a book that will impart warm feelings about God's love, you will want to get this book. While you're at it, go over to the order's website, and get a bar of their handmade soap or their CD. SMAngela's Sisters bring much joy into the lives of others, just like she continues to do in this book. One of the best books for children around. :) Tim and Lillian, Noblesville IN
"God and a Mouse" ...A reflection
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
My copy of "God and a Mouse" came to me in 1978 signed by the artist and illustrator De Grazia. When I was old enough I read the short poems and enjoyed them but did not understand the true meanings of the words before me. The years went by and the little book and it's beautiful words were forgotten. This book is a must read for anyone who needs to find the simple joy of life that so long ago were forgotten. The words on each page are so innocent and pure. They speak of truth and of the simplicity of nature, the things that we forget as we grow up and turn into adults; like a squeaky singing voice or running in an open field, the falling leaves and even weeds growing in the yard. The laughter of childhood and the joy of picking dandelions is long gone. These words so eloquently written reminded me to find the joy that can be found in the simplicity of life and nature. It doesn't matter what religion you practice see see the beauty and grace of the words Sr. Toigo Angela has written.
